Job summary

Weis Markets, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bakery Department Supervisor to lead daily operations, decorate bakery items, manage inventory, and ensure excellent customer service.

You will schedule staff, train associates, monitor costs, maintain product freshness, follow safety policies, and drive department performance in a fast-paced supermarket setting. Experience in decorating and a track record of staff development preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in business or food service desirable.
• Minimum 3 years' management experience in retail/restaurant/supermarket environment.
• Decorating experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes excellent customer relations and positive customer-focused behavior.
• Takes orders and decorates bakery products in a timely fashion.
• Decorates cakes and related products with various designs and frostings.
• Manages department inventories and orders products to meet demand and goals.
• Schedules Bakery associates and participates in training and performance reviews.
• Develops merchandising plans and monitors pricing/production amounts.
• Maintains records on inventory, sales, and associate performance.
• Checks deliveries and invoices for accuracy; assists with unloading.
• Controls department expenses and ensures adherence to recipes.
• Maintains well-stocked, clean, and attractive bakery displays.
• Ensures product freshness, proper pricing, and signage; handles out-of-code items.
• May assist in production of breads and pastries; follows production logs.
