Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members clearly.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information and use it to make decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across hourly and SDIT roles.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations across departments.
• Mentor and coach team members; implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales.
• Maintain store appearance, focusing on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Staffing, selection, and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning by developing career paths and promotion readiness.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Ensure P&L management and shrink control for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast, and friendly customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in meetings and interactions.
• Ensure staff are trained and have completed required training.
• Spend time in-store interacting with customers and team members to ensure service excellence.
