Job summary

Panera Bread seeks an Assistant General Manager to lead a bakery-cafe team with passion and drive. You’ll partner with the General Manager to oversee daily operations, delight guests, and grow the business through staffing, training, and motivation of the team.

You’ll be responsible for hiring, developing people, and maintaining high standards of service, quality, and safety while modeling Panera’s guiding values and culture.

Qualifications

• 1+ years restaurant management experience.
• ServSafe certification preferred or achievable.
• Ability to drive results with strong business acumen.
• Flexible hours including nights and weekends.
• Background check required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the bakery-cafe team to deliver extraordinary guest service.
• Plan staffing, scheduling, and staff development to meet goals.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members.
• Monitor performance and ensure quality standards and cost control.
• Collaborate with the General Manager to cultivate Panera's guiding values.
• Foster warm relationships with guests and drive loyalty.
• Ensure policies, procedures, and safety standards are followed.
