Job summary

Panera Bread is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead a neighborhood bakery-cafe team and partner with the General Manager on operations, hiring, training, and development. You will drive guest satisfaction, manage staffing, and maintain high standards for service and quality.

You will inspire and develop team members, optimize costs, and uphold Panera’s Guiding Values as you grow the business and create welcoming guest experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of restaurant management experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification (or ability to achieve).
• Proven ability to drive positive results through strong business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager by making key decisions and problem solving.
• Plan and manage staffing needs, shift scheduling, people development, career development, and succession planning.
• Support the hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members while motivating, energizing, engaging, and celebrating the entire team.
• Assist with managing team performance to ensure bakery-cafe goals, operational and quality standards, and guest service expectations are met.
• Partner with the General Manager to develop managers on Panera’s processes and Guiding Values & Behaviors.
• Ensure every guest is delighted by the quality of food and service and build long-term guest relationships.
• Follow procedures to execute company strategies and maintain health, safety, and culture standards.
• Assist in maintaining bakery-cafe costs and inventory.
