Job summary

Panera Bread is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead a beloved bakery-cafe and inspire a high-performing team. You will partner with the General Manager to oversee operations, hire, train, and develop staff while delivering exceptional guest experiences.

You will manage scheduling, cost controls, and quality standards in a fast-paced environment, champion Panera’s values, and help grow the business at your location.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18+ and restaurant management experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification or ability to obtain it.
• Proven ability to drive positive results with strong business acumen.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead bakery-cafe operations and inspire the team to deliver great guest experiences.
• Plan staffing, shift scheduling, and people development; supervise onboarding and training.
• Partner with General Manager to drive performance, quality standards, and costs.
• Develop managers on processes and Panera’s Guiding Values & Behaviors.
• Ensure compliance with policies, health/safety standards, and guest satisfaction.
• Build long-term guest relationships and support culture of warmth and trust.
