Job summary

Panera Bread is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead a bakery-cafe team, partner with the General Manager, and drive guest satisfaction and business results. You will hire, train, and develop staff while upholding Panera’s guidelines and ensuring a welcoming, efficient operation.

You will oversee scheduling, performance, and adherence to standards, contributing to a warm, productive culture and strong financial performance at your location.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of restaurant management experience preferred.
• ServSafe certification (or ability to achieve).
• Proven ability to drive positive results through strong business acumen.
• Flexible hours including nights and weekends in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bakery-cafe team and partner with the General Manager to oversee operations.
• Plan and manage staffing, scheduling, and people development.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members.
• Manage team performance to meet quality standards and guest service expectations.
• Build subject matter experts within the team and develop managers on Panera’s values and behaviors.
• Ensure guest satisfaction through quality food and service.
• Foster relationships to grow loyal guests and maintain company policies.
