Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Baker at Texas Christian University to prepare baked goods per recipes and standards. You’ll weigh ingredients, bake breads, pastries and cakes, while maintaining quality and appearance to satisfy guests. The role includes a flexible schedule with full- and part-time options.

Responsibilities include following daily schedules, proper storage, and accommodating special requests. Physical requirements involve extended standing, walking and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 1 year of related work experience.
• Experience in a specialized bakery or pastry role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check daily production schedules and prepare baked items from scratch according to Sodexo recipes.
• Weigh ingredients, mix doughs, shape and bake items to perfection.
• Regulate oven temps, monitor baking times and ensure correct temperatures for products.
• Set up bake shop area, stock, label and date products, keep bakery clean and organized.
• Attend to special requests and ensure high-quality baked items leave the kitchen.
• Significant walking or other mobility required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
