Job summary

Coinbase's Money Movement team within the Developer product group is hiring a backend engineer to design and deploy stablecoin-based payments rails. You will own end-to-end projects, build scalable APIs and infrastructure, and collaborate across Product, Design, Infra, and Compliance to balance speed, security, and regulatory needs.

This role emphasizes performance, reliability, and responsible AI usage, with a remote-first policy and quarterly in-person surges to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience on backend systems in fintech/payments/crypto.
• Proficiency in Go and/or Java with cloud AWS/GCP.
• Experience delivering end-to-end technical projects as DRI.
• Experience with blockchain/crypto tech such as stablecoins or on-chain payments.
• Ability to write design docs and communicate trade-offs.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Own key projects end-to-end as DRI, from design to production.
• Build backend systems, APIs, and infrastructure for stablecoin payments.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Infra, and Compliance.
• Improve performance, scalability, and reliability of distributed systems.
• Contribute to engineering quality through code reviews and patterns.
