Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking an energetic and passionate software engineer for a 100% on-site role in a secure facility in Redondo Beach, CA. You will work on Next Generation Ground Systems and software deliveries to operational sites, performing C++ development within an agile team on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

The position requires TS/SCI clearance or higher and a strong background in object-oriented C++ development, debugging, and collaboration with senior engineers across subsystems.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship with TS/SCI clearance or higher.
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5–8 years of experience, Master's with 3–6 years, or PhD with 1–4 years; an additional 4 years of relevant software experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Proficiency in C++ and Object-Oriented programming; knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux; strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Role Overview

We are seeking an energetic and passionate software engineer to join a diverse and skilled team. This role involves working on innovative solutions to complex issues in support of national security missions, focusing on Next Generation Ground Systems and software deliveries to operational sites. This position is 100% on-site in a secure facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform as a C++ software developer in a fast-paced agile team environment using Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) VMs, servers, and workstations.


• Design, code, and unit test new software capabilities based on Mathematical Algorithm Requirements.


• Identify, troubleshoot, and provide software fixes for Discrepancy Reports.


• Collaborate with subject matter experts and senior staff engineers across multiple software subsystems.

Required Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5-8 years of experience, a Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 3-6 years of experience, or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 1-4 years of experience. An additional 4 years of relevant software experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Experience: This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen with an Top Secret clearance or higher.

Technical Skills: Advanced Object-Oriented programming skills and proficiency with C++ programming; Knowledge of the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system; Demonstrated problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Top Secret / SCI Clearance


• Experience with DevSecOps Test Automation.


• Experience with programming/scripting languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, or Perl.


• Strong aptitude in mathematics and algorithms.


• Previous participation on an Agile scrum team or familiarity with the Agile process.


• Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo).


• Experience developing in a Linux environment using git.B
