Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems in Northridge, CA is seeking a Software Systems Engineer 3 to define software requirements and perform functional decomposition for an Advance Weapons Business Unit. This 100% onsite role focuses on delivering safe, integrated software across CSCIs.

You will translate requirements, collaborate with system and software engineers, develop architecture models, verify and validate, and write tests and use-case diagrams.

Qualifications

• Experience with embedded software and reading code to verify implementation to software requirements specifications.
• Experience with system, subsystem, software and hardware integration, test and verification.
• Experience in the defense industry and aerospace environments.

Responsibilities

Role Overview

An opportunity is available for a Software Systems Engineer to support an Advance Weapons Business Unit. In this role, you will define software requirements and perform functional decomposition of subsystem specifications. This position is 100% on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate system and subsystem level software requirements into software level requirements for each Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI).
• Collaborate with System and Software engineers to develop software architecture models.
• Support the verification and validation of the software product to ensure all integrated CSCIs function as intended.
• Conduct requirements analysis, requirements allocation, system design, software design, and software implementation.
• Perform software testing, system integration, field integration testing, and requirements verification.
• Develop use cases, activity diagrams, and sequence diagrams using enterprise architecture tools.
• Write and execute Software Test Plans and Test Descriptions.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in systems engineering tools, such as DOORS and CAMEO.
• Experience in Embedded Software, with the ability to read code and verify implementation per Software Requirements Specifications.
• Experience with system, subsystem, software, and hardware integration, test, and verification.
• Experience in the defense industry and design within an aerospace environment.
• Candidates must be willing and able to obtain a DOD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Active DOD Secret Clearance
• Experience in multiple aerospace and defense technologies such as sensors, navigation aids, guidance electronics, controls, propulsion, structures, or platforms.
• Technical knowledge in one or more military mission areas.
• Experience in assessing legacy system architecture and innovation for future technology development.
