Job summary

UL Standards & Engagement in Evanston, IL seeks a Lead Azure Cloud Engineer to define, design, and advance enterprise cloud strategy while remaining hands-on in solution design and delivery. You will mentor staff, lead MSP partners, and set standards for secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud environments.

You will drive IaC using Terraform, manage CI/CD pipelines, and guide cross-functional teams across cloud initiatives. A strong cloud security and governance background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in cloud engineering, cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or related areas.
• Minimum 3 years of experience leading cloud transformation or architecture initiatives.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and guiding teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise cloud infrastructure across major platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Direct an MSP-based engineering team, manage runbooks and SLAs, and ensure quality delivery.
• Establish cloud architecture standards, governance, and security controls.
• Provide architectural guidance on complex infrastructure projects across multiple teams.
