Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Oracle DBA Lead to drive an on-premises to AWS migration. You will own end-to-end migration, assess environments, and define cutover plans while building Oracle on AWS EC2 instances. The role requires strong RAC, GoldenGate, and RMAN/Data Pump expertise.

You will coordinate with teams across AWS, networks, security, and operations, ensuring a smooth transition and post-go-live stabilization. Remote work is supported.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience including production support and migration responsibilities.
• Strong administration experience with Oracle 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c and preferably 21c across Windows, Linux/Unix.
• Experience migrating Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS or cloud environments; hands-on AWS rehost is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS via rehost to EC2.
• Assess database versions, editions, OS, storage, interfaces, dependencies, jobs, backups, security, and HA/DR configurations.
• Define migration approach, prerequisites, target sizing, cutover and rollback plans, and handover criteria.
• Build and configure Oracle environments on AWS EC2, including installation, creation, listener config, storage layout, tuning, patching, backups, and access controls.
• Perform schema and data migrations using RMAN, Data Pump, transportable tablespaces, Data Guard, or GoldenGate based on size and downtime needs.
