Job summary
Cognizant is seeking an Oracle DBA Lead to drive the on-premises to AWS migration of Oracle databases, with a focus on rehost to Oracle Database on Amazon EC2. The role requires hands-on migration leadership across discovery, sizing, cutover planning, and post-go-live stabilization.
The candidate will build and configure Oracle environments on AWS, perform RMAN/Data Pump/GoldenGate based migrations, coordinate with security, network, and application teams, and provide escalation-ready support
Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience with migration responsibilities.
- Experience migrating Oracle databases to AWS or cloud environments, with rehost patterns preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle RAC, GOLDENGATE, RMAN, and Data Guard concepts.
- Exposure to Oracle Enterprise Manager and cloud monitoring tools.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS EC2.
- Perform discovery, assessment, sizing, and migration plan for each database.
- Build and configure Oracle environments on AWS, including network and storage.
- Execute schema and data migration using RMAN, Data Pump, or GoldenGate.
- Plan mock migrations, cutovers, and post-go-live stabilization.
- Provide hypercare support and RCA for issues post-migration.
