Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA Lead to drive the on-premises to AWS migration strategy and execution. The role requires hands-on migration of Oracle databases to AWS EC2, with end-to-end responsibility for cutover, validation, and post-go-live support.

The candidate will coordinate with application, AWS cloud, network, and security teams, build and configure Oracle environments on AWS, and leverage RMAN/Data Pump/GG to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience with migration responsibilities.
• Experience migrating Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS or other cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS, rehost to Oracle DB on EC2.
• Assess versions, editions, OS, storage, interfaces, dependencies, backups, and DR/HA configurations.
• Define migration approach: prerequisites, target sizing, outage requirements, data transfer, cutover, rollback, validation, handover.
• Build/configure Oracle environments on AWS EC2: install, create/restore, listener, storage, patching, backups, access controls.
• Execute schema and data migration using RMAN, Data Pump, transportable tablespaces, Data Guard, or GoldenGate.
• Plan mock migrations, production cutovers, validation, and post-cutover stabilization.
• Provide post-go-live hypercare, rapid triage, root-cause analysis, remediation, and knowledge transfer.
• Create migration runbooks, validation checklists, rollback procedures, SOPs, and transition docs.
