Job summary

Cognizant is seeking an Oracle DBA Lead to drive on-premises to AWS migrations with a focus on rehosting Oracle on EC2. You will lead discovery, sizing, and cutover planning while buildingOracle environments on AWS and performing schema and data migrations.

The role requires 8+ years of DBA experience, hands-on knowledge of RMAN/Data Pump/GoldenGate, RAC, and Enterprise Manager, and strong coordination across teams. Remote work in the US is supported.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience.
• Experience migrating Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS or cloud environments.
• Hands-on knowledge of Oracle RAC and clustered configurations.
• Experience with RMAN, Data Pump, Data Guard, or GoldenGate.
• Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager and AWS monitoring.
• Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end migration of Oracle databases from on-premises to AWS (rehost to EC2).
• Perform discovery and assessment of versions, editions, OS, storage, interfaces, dependencies, and high availability.
• Define migration approach including prerequisites, sizing, outage requirements, cutover, rollback, and validation.
• Build and configure Oracle DB environments on AWS EC2 (installation, creation, listener, storage, tuning, backups).
• Execute schema and data migration using RMAN, Data Pump, transportable tablespaces, Data Guard, or GoldenGate.
• Plan mock migrations, production cutovers, validation, rollback readiness, and post-cutover stabilization.
• Provide post-go-live hypercare with rapid triage and remediation.
• Create migration runbooks, validation checklists, rollback procedures, SOPs, and transition docs.
• Coordinate with application, AWS, network, security, storage, OS, and business teams.
• Provide technical leadership for incidents, RCA, remediation, and knowledge transfer.
