Job summary

Global Atlantic Financial Group is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President, Statutory Reporting to lead the statutory accounting and reporting function for the insurer. You will oversee quarterly and annual statements, regulatory filings, and disclosures, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

This role requires 6–8+ years in statutory accounting within life insurance, CPA preferred, advanced Excel and ERP experience (Oracle PeopleSoft), and the ability to collaborate across Finance,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA designation preferred.
• 6-8+ years of progressive statutory accounting and reporting experience within the life insurance and annuity industry.
• Leadership experience managing, mentoring, or developing accounting and financial reporting professionals.
• Experience preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements and regulatory filings.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting processes, controls, and month- end/quarter-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with GL systems, including Oracle PeopleSoft.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation, review, and analysis of quarterly and annual statutory financial statements and regulatory filings.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development support to team members.
• Assess impact of accounting changes on reporting processes and implement strategies.
• Collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, Investments, Legal, Operations to resolve matters.
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances and reporting issues.
• Design and enhance statutory accounting processes, controls, and reporting frameworks.
• Coordinate and support annual statutory audits and auditor requests.
• Research and interpret complex accounting guidance for management.
