Job summary

WORK Inc. in Dorchester, MA is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Residential Services to lead all residential programs. The AVP will provide strategic direction, oversee operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and supervise program directors.

This senior role requires strong leadership, budget oversight, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a commitment to individual-centered services. Travel across Greater Boston and Plymouth is required as part of the role; after-hours on-call

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or related field; 6–8 years of progressive residential services management.
• Five+ years supervisory experience; ability to inspire teams and build partnerships.
• Experience in regulatory compliance and budget management.
• Valid Massachusetts driver's license and access to a vehicle for work-related travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the overall management and leadership of the residential services department, aligning goals with the organization’s mission.
• Develop and implement effective management accountability systems.
• Oversee planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of residential programs and services.
• Supervise directors, managers, and staff, ensuring performance management and professional growth.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and funding requirements; collaborate with quality department.
• Lead budget planning, fiscal oversight, and resource allocation for residential operations.
• Develop and maintain service plans for residents and coordinate with other departments.
• Collaborate on new program development and initiatives.
• Represent the department at meetings and in the community; build partnerships.
• Oversee intake and assessment for new residents and individualized support planning.
• Monitor quality and efficacy of services and drive program improvements.
• Ensure upkeep, safety, and maintenance of residential facilities.
• Develop policies, procedures, and best practices for participant life and emergency response.
• Support fundraising, grant writing, and resource development for programs.
• Provide coverage for VP during absences, including emergency response and on-call duties.
