Job summary

Constructive Partnerships Unlimited seeks an Assistant Vice President (AVP), Supportive Housing to lead the portfolio of DHS shelter programs in New York City, ensuring compliance, quality, and strong service delivery across sites.

You will supervise shelter program leadership, collaborate with HR on staffing and development, and coordinate with DHS and funders to advance organizational goals while maintaining client-centered services.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Human Services, or a related field.
• Minimum of five to seven years of progressive management experience in supportive housing or related human services.
• Direct experience with NYC DHS systems and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the VP in day-to-day operational management of shelter programs with consistent service delivery.
• Monitor site-level compliance with DHS obligations, performance metrics, and reporting deadlines.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess program quality, safety, staffing, and client service delivery.
• Identify operational gaps and elevate solutions to the VP with recommendations.
• Support development and implementation of DHS-aligned policies and CPU procedures.
• Provide supervision to Program Directors and shelter leadership, and support hiring and development.
• Coordinate with HR on employee relations and reporting as applicable.
• Ensure compliance with DHS contracts and NYC/NY regulations, and support audits.
• Represent CPU with DHS and external partners; maintain funder relationships.
