Symetra is seeking an AVP to lead Claims Strategy and Process Innovation, driving disability and absence management transformation through technology, automation, and data-driven decision making.

You will partner with Claims, Technology, Product, Compliance, Legal, and Operations to modernize systems, improve customer outcomes, and support sustainable growth. A strong focus on change management and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of leadership experience in disability, absence management, employee benefits, or claims operations.
• 10+ years working with FINEOS claims platforms.
• Strategic claims or absence management leadership with deep expertise in disability and leave administration.
• Experience leading large-scale operational transformation, process improvement, and technology modernization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy and roadmap for claims transformation, process innovation, and operational excellence.
• Partner with Claims, Technology, Product, Compliance, and Legal to deliver scalable solutions.
• Serve as the business lead for major claims system initiatives, including FINEOS enhancements, implementations, and modernization.
• Translate business needs into future-state operating models, technology solutions, and transformational initiatives.
• Establish metrics, governance, and reporting to measure impact and performance.
• Lead organizational readiness, change management, and adoption strategies.
• Leverage data to identify opportunities, solve challenges, and improve outcomes.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to keep the organization competitive.
• Build and develop high-performing teams with a culture of innovation.
