Job summary

Ursa Major seeks an Avionics Test Manager to lead a hands-on senior test engineer role while also guiding a small engineering team. You will design, integrate, and maintain ATE/STE/EGSE for avionics development, qualification, and production, and drive test strategy, documentation, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 6 years of experience developing electrical test equipment, laboratory instrumentation systems, or automated hardware test solutions.
• Hands-on with mixed-signal circuit design and test hardware (analog/digital).
• Experience integrating commercial instrumentation into automated test systems.
• Developing schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface control documents.
• Strong troubleshooting of complex hardware and hardware/software integration in automated test environments.
• Knowledge of SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, USB, RS-422/485, PXI, and/or GPIB.
• 1–3+ years in a leadership capacity with project delivery and team development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain avionics test equipment (ATE/STE/EGSE) for development, qualification, and production.
• Create schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface electronics for automated test systems.
• Select and configure laboratory instrumentation for automated test solutions.
• Support HIL, qualification, environmental, and production testing across processor-, FPGA-, and mixed-signal avionics.
• Lead bring-up, verification, and validation of new test equipment; conduct technical reviews and trade studies.
