Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking an Avionics Product Engineer to own a complex hardware product from development into production. You will become the subject-matter expert on the product’s electrical design, architecture, and test methodologies, coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program management teams to ensure on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years in electronic hardware engineering or development.
• Experience with avionics, aerospace, or defense systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical hardware design and debugging.
• Experience supporting products through manufacturing and production.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and manufacturing docs.
• Experience with hardware verification and production tests.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive execution.
• Strong planning and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall technical success and execution of an avionics product throughout production.
• Develop expert-level understanding of electrical design, manufacturing processes, and test methodologies.
• Troubleshoot technical issues across production, test, integration, and fielded hardware with SMEs.
• Own production schedules and drive execution to meet customer contracts, internal milestones, and R&D deliverables.
• Coordinate activities across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program management to ensure successful hardware deliveries.
• Support active programs, customer meetings, and technical discussions as the product representative.
• Complete ATPs, review results, certify production hardware, and ensure compliance with product requirements.
