Job summary

Ursa Major seeks an Avionics Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team of FPGA design and verification engineers, firmware/software developers, and electrical test engineers, delivering reliable avionics hardware and software for advanced aerospace and defense programs.

You will own staffing, schedule execution, process improvements, and cross-functional coordination with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management to meet demanding program requirements.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in FPGA-based digital systems, embedded software, avionics, or automated test.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead an integrated organization for FPGA design, verification, firmware, and avionics test.
• Oversee development, verification, qualification, and production transition of avionics hardware.
• Ensure design reviews, verification plans, configuration mgmt, and Quality standards.
• Provide leadership for FPGA architecture, verification strategy, and test development.
• Staff, balance workload, hire, mentor, and develop engineers across disciplines.
• Own department schedules, technical performance, and milestone execution.
