Job summary

Ursa Major seeks an Avionics Test Manager to lead and contribute to the design, development, integration, and maintenance of Special Test Equipment (STE) and Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) for aerospace avionics.

The role blends hands-on senior test engineering with team leadership, schedule management, and cross-program coordination to deliver production-ready test solutions. Requires DOD-relevant experience and US person status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 6 years of experience developing electrical test equipment or automated test solutions, including ATE/STE/EGSE.
• Hands-on expertise in mixed-signal design, signal integrity, grounding, and PCB layout principles.
• Experience integrating commercial instrumentation into automated test systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware/hardware-software integration in automated test environments.
• Knowledge of SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Ethernet, USB, PXI, GPIB interfaces.
• 1-3+ years in leadership roles with evidence of delivery and team development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain ATE, STE, and EGSE for avionics development, qualification, and production.
• Create schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface electronics for test systems.
• Configure laboratory instrumentation and interfaces for automated tests.
• Support HIL, environmental, production testing with coverage of avionics assemblies.
• Lead bring-up, verification, and validation of new test equipment.
• Lead technical reviews, trade studies, and failure investigations.
