Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. is seeking a junior to mid-level software-focused Systems Engineer for on-site work at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD. This role requires an active Secret clearance and supports software systems engineering across acquisition, development, and sustainment of aviation programs.

Two+ years of experience, knowledge of avionics, and a BS from an ABET-accredited program are required. The position is future funded with anticipated start after September 1, 2026, with compensation

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience performing software or systems engineering activities.
• Knowledge of avionics systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements.
• Review and evaluate vendor software specifications.
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration.
• Conduct analysis of software defects.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity subject matter experts.
• Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs).
• Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process.
• Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes.
• Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs).
• Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs).
• Support technical evaluations of contractor proposals.
