Job summary

SimVentions, Inc is seeking a junior to mid-level software-focused Systems Engineer to perform software systems engineering for acquisition, development and sustainment of aviation programs. This on-site role is at the NAVAIR base in PAX River, MD, with a future start date not before September 1, 2026.

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required; Top Secret may be required later. The position emphasizes collaboration with vendors, agile processes, and system-level reviews.

Qualifications

• Two+ years of software or systems engineering experience.
• Knowledge of avionics systems.
• Experience with DOD standards (e.g., DOD-STD-2167A, MIL-STD-498, IEEE 12207).
• Experience with Agile software development processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements.
• Review and evaluate vendor software specifications.
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration.
• Conduct analysis of software defects.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity subject matter experts.
• Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs).
• Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process.
• Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes.
• Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and CDRLs.
• Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs).
• Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals.
