Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. is seeking a junior to mid-level software-focused Systems Engineer for software systems engineering on aviation programs. The role is on-site at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD and requires eligibility for a security clearance.

The position is future-funded and not expected to begin before September 1, 2026, with opportunities to work across requirements, vendor coordination, and integration activities in a defense environment.

Qualifications

• At least two years of software or systems engineering experience.
• Knowledge of avionics systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements.
• Review and evaluate vendor software specifications.
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration.
• Conduct analysis of software defects.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity subject matter experts.
• Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, etc.).
• Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process.
• Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes.
• Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs).
• Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs).
• Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals.
