Job summary

Saab in West Lafayette, IN is hiring 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk trainer. Paid on-site training and path to advanced manufacturing processes are provided. Start date anticipated for early December 2026.

You will work on assembling aircraft structures, read drawings, and participate in continuous improvement while training new teammates and supporting quality-driven production.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain quality.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25–50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structures and install systems per procedures.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
• Train new team members and transfer knowledge.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces and perform touch-up painting.
• Sign off completed work according to specification.
• Maintain a positive, productive team environment.
