Job summary

Saab is expanding its West Lafayette, IN manufacturing facility and seeks 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. Start early December 2026 with paid on-site training through the Aerospace structures academy.

You will assemble, train others, and participate in defining the production system. Qualifications include 2+ years in assembly or hand tools, ability to read drawings, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Follow standardized procedures with consistent quality.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structures per procedures and quality requirements.
• Train new team members and share knowledge.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Perform functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces, including touch-up painting.
• Sign off completed work per specifications.
• Contribute to a positive, productive work environment.
• Work additional hours or weekends as required.
