Job summary

Saab is expanding its advanced manufacturing facility in West Lafayette, IN, and seeks 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. You will train new team members and help define a state‑of‑the‑art production system.

Start date anticipated for early December 2026. Responsibilities include assembling aircraft structures, validating quality, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring safe, precise work.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Execute standardized procedures to deliver 100% quality and install systems and final assembly on aircraft fuselage.
• Deliver work according to quality requirements and work instructions in a team environment.
• Support daily continuous improvement focusing on safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces including touch-up painting.
• Sign off when work is complete according to specification.
• Assist in training and transferring knowledge to new employees.
• Contribute to a positive, productive work environment aligned with company values.
