Job summary

Frontier Airlines in Denver, CO is seeking a Specialist, Safety Management System (SMS) to provide oversight of Frontier's SMS program and coordinate cross-functional efforts with operational departments to implement SMS policies and practices.

The role partners with the Sr. Manager, SMS/IEP, supports regulatory interfaces, and conducts SRAs while maintaining SMS data systems and manuals, contributing to a strong safety culture across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• 1–3 years’ work experience at a Part 121 air carrier preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience within a Safety Management System (SMS) framework.
• Thorough understanding of 14 CFR Part 5.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate cross-functional efforts to maintain and enhance the SMS program (40%).
• Co-chair SMS Working Groups and present findings to leadership weekly/monthly (20%).
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, document processes and controls, and maintain SMS policies (10%).
• Assist in conducting Safety Risk Assessments and maintaining SMS data systems (10%).
• Audit SMS compliance and report findings to the Sr. Manager, SMS/IEP (5%).
• Promote a strong safety culture through Safety Promotion initiatives (5%).
• Interface with the FAA regarding SMS approvals, compliance requirements, and corrective actions (5%).
• Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Manager, SMS/IEP (5%).
