Air Methods in Denver seeks a Director of Aviation Compliance to lead the Operational Control Center and ensure compliance with the applicable regulations. You will champion a Just Culture, advance the Safety Management System, and collaborate with regulators, industry partners, and flight operations leaders to strengthen how we operate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Aviation field; 10–12 years’ related experience.
• 3 years PIC in Part 135 or 121 within last six years.
• Extensive knowledge of FARS and NTSB.
• MBA preferred or equivalent.
• Air Methods experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the OCC to meet safety, reliability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction goals.
• Responsible for aviation compliance including monitoring information and pilot risk determinations.
• Ensure operations are conducted per Air Carrier Certificate and applicable regulations.
• Champion safety through a Just Culture.
• Establish and maintain SMS in flight operations.
• Implement programs to ensure compliance with regs and Air Methods policies.
• Provide knowledge of industry safety matters to Air Methods departments.
• Maintain liaison with FAA, NTSB and industry organizations.
• Continuously analyze workflows and implement process improvements.
• Support Emergency Operations Center when activated.
• Lead audits and mitigate identified hazards; investigate safety-related occurrences.
• Represent Air Methods in industry regulatory engagement and strategic planning.
