Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking a Sheet Metal Technician to join our on-site team in Cahokia Heights, IL. The role involves fabricating and repairing aircraft sheet metal, reading blueprints, and coordinating with the team to meet project timelines.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, experience with sheet metal, and preferably an Airframe and Powerplant license. A valid driver’s license or passport is a plus, and employees enjoy comprehensive benefits starting at hire.

Qualifications

• A High school diploma or equivalent; A&P license preferred.
• A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
• Prior experience working with sheet metal is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic sheet metal operations such as drilling, riveting, cutting on airframe and components.
• Apply and remove sealant, sound deadening and finish materials.
• Maintain, clean and repair shop facilities, equipment and tooling.
• Navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Communicate effectively in English.
