Job summary

Grupo EULEN USA seeks an experienced Director of Safety & Compliance to lead our aviation ground handling safety strategy across the U.S. You will own the SMS, QA programs, and regulatory compliance, partnering with station leadership and customers to drive measurable risk reduction.

This leader will supervise audits, conduct safety assessments, and guide investigations into incidents, while communicating trends and actions to executives. Travel across stations will be required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive aviation experience with safety, compliance, quality, or ground operations responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS) in aviation.
• Experience managing or supporting IATA and ISAGO audits.
• Understanding of ground handling operations and risks involving employees, aircraft, and GSE.
• Knowledge of aviation, occupational safety, airport, and airline customer requirements.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to influence leaders and ensure accountability for safety.
• Strong executive communication and reporting skills.
• Willingness to travel, including on short notice.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent aviation safety/leadership experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Own, develop, and improve the company's SMS and Quality Assurance Program.
• Drive safety strategy across multiple airport stations and operations.
• Lead initiatives to reduce injuries, aircraft damage, GSE incidents, and near misses.
• Identify safety trends and systemic risks; develop mitigation plans.
• Ensure regulatory and partner compliance across operations.
• Lead and support IATA/ISAGO audits, internal audits, and station assessments.
• Conduct operational safety assessments across ramp, cabin, passenger service, baggage, and GSE.
• Lead investigations into injuries and incidents; implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Operations leadership on root causes and sustained actions.
• Lead safety briefings and KPI reporting across all U.S. sites.
• Develop and communicate safety programs, campaigns, and training.
• Provide executive risk analysis and performance reporting to leadership.
• Serve as safety liaison with airlines, airports, and regulators.
