Job summary

VSE Aviation, Inc. is seeking an HR Business Partner to provide comprehensive HR support across the Aviation division.

You will partner with leaders at all levels to build a high-performance culture, manage performance, onboarding, employee relations, and workforce planning for a dispersed multi-state workforce. The role will guide leaders on performance management, training, development, and strategic HR initiatives while ensuring legal compliance and effective internal communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or a related discipline.
• Alternative: 3 additional years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
• 6 years of relevant/technical work experience.
• HR experience in a public company environment.
• Experience supporting over 400 domestic employees in a dispersed multi-state environment.
• Proven experience in employee relations and labor relations with internal/external audit.

Responsibilities

• Implement programs to support engagement, growth, and retention of the Aviation team members.
• Support the annual performance review process, talent review, and compensation planning.
• Partner with HR areas for support with strategic initiatives to meet business unit goals.
• Provide coaching and development to leaders aligned with VSE's culture.
• Partner with leadership to manage employee relations activities.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Provide support with internal communications and work with stakeholders on relevant efforts.
• Analyze metrics and trends with Compensation and Benefits to ensure talent attraction and retention.
• Assist in designing and delivering HR initiatives addressing organizational issues.
• Help develop HR's strategic direction aligned with company goals.
• Partner with local leadership on succession planning and skills development.
• Review business metrics to identify improvements in retention and employee experience.
• Support talent acquisition to build a pipeline for contracts.
