Job summary

Amentum is actively seeking an Aviation Armament Mechanic to support U.S. Navy maintenance operations at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA.

The Aircraft Worker performs repairs, troubleshooting, and inspections on aircraft structures, engines, and subsystems per manuals and technical data. Responsibilities include removing and reinstalling engines, repairing wiring and components, and logging maintenance actions.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Navy Aviation Structural Mechanic Technician AM “A” School and FAA A&P license or equivalent.
• Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks.
• Must be physically able to perform all assigned duties.
• Must have a valid Virginia or North Carolina Driver license (if North Carolina resident).
• Work is performed outdoors under all weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and maintenance following manuals and data for aircraft and engines.
• Repair or replace components, rigging, hydraulics, and electrical systems on aircraft.
• Read and interpret technical publications and maintenance data to determine repair methods.
• Supervise jacking and towing of aircraft and log work in maintenance records.
• May operate power vehicles and ground support equipment as required.
