Job summary

Amentum is hiring an Aircraft Armament Mechanic I to support U.S. Navy maintenance operations at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA.

Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting aircraft systems and components including engines, landing gear, and hydraulics. Qualifications include 3 years F/A-18 A-G maintenance experience, potential licensing, and readiness to meet security and credential requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of actual and recent organizational-level F/A-18 A-G aircraft maintenance experience.
• 3 years F/A-18 A-G Ordnance Certified QA/SO experience.
• Must meet the criteria to be qualified and certified per OPNAVINST 8023.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft structure, systems, and components and performs inspections.
• Replaces/repairs worn or damaged components and repairs aircraft subsystems.
• Maintains and updates maintenance records and ensures compliance with safety and quality policies.
