Job summary

Amentum is seeking qualified Aviation Structural Mechanic, Technicians to support U.S. Navy maintenance operations at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach.

The Aircraft Worker repairs, replaces and rebuilds aircraft structures and components, reads technical manuals, performs inspections, and ensures safe operation of aircraft. Candidate must have completed Navy AM A School, be physically able to perform duties, and may require security clearances.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Navy Aviation Structural Mechanic Technician AM “A” School.
• Ability to read and interpret technical data and maintenance publications.
• Must be physically able to perform all assigned duties.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship required for facility credentials.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance inspections and troubleshooting of aircraft structures and systems.
• Repairs, replaces and rebuilds aircraft components using hand and power tools.
• Reads and interprets manuals, service bulletins and engineering data to determine repair methods.
• Supervises jacking and towing of aircraft and documents work performed.
