Job summary

Amentum is immediately hiring Aviation Structural Mechanic, Technicians to support U.S. Navy maintenance operations at NAS Oceana Virginia Beach, VA. The Aircraft Worker makes repairs to aircraft following orders of higher grade technicians, and assists in troubleshooting structural, engine, and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities include inspections, component repairs, and maintenance record entries. Must meet the stated requirements and be able to obtain required clearances and credentials.

Qualifications

• Must have completed Navy Aviation Structural Mechanics AM “A” School or equivalent.
• Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks.
• Must be physically able to perform all assigned duties.
• Must have a valid Virginia or North Carolina Driver license (if North Carolina resident).
• Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, and manuals.
• Must be able to obtain a favorable T3 Secret eligibility status.

Responsibilities

• Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures and components per manuals.
• Inspect engines, landing gear, hydraulics, and flight controls for faults.
• Perform inspections and service records; read and follow engineering data.
• Operate tools like rivet guns, brakes, drills; use testing equipment.
