Job summary

Amentum is hiring an Aircraft Structural Mechanic I for NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA. The role troubleshoots and repairs aircraft structures, landing gear, flight surfaces and related systems in support of U.S. Navy maintenance operations.

Candidates should have Navy AM A School or FAA A&P license and 5+ years of F/A-18 maintenance experience, plus the ability to read manuals, obtain security clearance, and meet physical requirements. Shift work and outdoor conditions apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of actual and recent organizational-level F/A-18 A-G aircraft maintenance experience.
• Must be able to read and interpret technical publications, manuals, and safety instructions.
• Must obtain Collateral Duty Inspector qualification within 30 days of hire/promotion.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair aircraft structures, wings, fuselage, and related components.
• Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight inspections and testing of systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate actions to supervision.
