Job summary

Amentum is hiring Aircraft Structural Mechanic I at NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, VA to support U.S. Navy Aviation maintenance operations.

The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding aircraft structures and components, including engines, hydromechanical systems, and rigging. Candidates must have 3 years of F/A-18 maintenance and AM A School or FAA A&P license, with potential for CDI qualification within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of actual and recent organizational-level F/A-18 A-G aircraft maintenance experience.
• Must have completed Navy Aviation Structural Mechanics AM “A” School or FAA A&P License.
• Must obtain Collateral Duty Inspector qualification within 30 days of promotion/hire date.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and replace worn or damaged aircraft structures, components, and subsystems.
• Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections and certification of work.
• Supervise jacking, towing, and records entry; ensure work meets safety and quality standards.
