Job summary

Macomb Community College is seeking an AV Technician to perform setup, installation and diagnostics of audiovisual equipment in classrooms and events. The role includes troubleshooting, simple repairs, and coordinating service requests through the college booking system within SLA.

You will monitor system performance using Extron Global Viewer, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with on-demand event support and staff training.

Qualifications

• Two years direct experience with general audio-visual equipment.
• Experience configuring Windows and/or Apple PCs to interface with AV equipment (projectors, sound systems, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Set up, install, and diagnose AV and classroom mediation equipment.
• Troubleshoot and perform simple repair of audiovisual systems.
• Schedule AV equipment requests using the college booking system within published SLA’s.
• Monitor AV system uptime using Extron Global Viewer and perform preventive maintenance.
• Set up portable or built-in AV systems for events.
• Deliver/set-up temporary AV systems with little notice when permanent systems have failed.
• Assist with training of new hire part-time employees in the department.
• Utilize a ticketing system to log information, track resources, and resolve issues within SLA.
• Other audiovisual-related duties as assigned.
