Job summary

Maricopa County Community College District's Mesa Community College seeks an Audio Visual Specialist Sr to diagnose, repair, install, and support AV systems. You will plan and organize work, manage AV support for events, and integrate AV with IT to minimize instructional disruption.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with several years of AV experience; knowledge of Extron systems is preferred, and MCCCD offers a range of benefits and a flexible work environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and four years of experience with supporting audio visual and multimedia systems, hardware and software and end-users of audio visual systems.
• Experience with and understanding of the configuration and programming of Extron or similar audiovisual control systems.
• Experience with providing audiovisual support for live events (set and/or operation)
• Experience with the planning and installation of audio visual equipment, preferably in a classroom.
• Knowledge and experience with audiovisual enterprise level networking.
• Experience with direct audiovisual customer support, preferably in an educational environment.
• One year of MCCCD experience during the previous two years.

Responsibilities

• Supports events, including setup and strike of audio-visual equipment; Performs the primary operation of audio-visual equipment during a live event; Coordinates with other college departments to ensure the success of events
• Maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots audio visual equipment and systems; Follows preventative maintenance procedures; Trains and assists faculty and staff on the usage of audio-visual equipment; interacts with faculty, students, and staff in the classroom to resolve technology issues; Responds to complex incidents that require advanced technical skills not handled at a lower level; Assists in tracking and scheduling service requests and repairs; Provide solutions for complex system failures; Assists in the development of procedures; Assigns and monitors the work of temporary and student workers
• Assists in the design, engineering, and installation of audio-visual equipment and systems; Assists in the evaluation and research of new audio-visual technologies; Works with vendors for installations and on-site services
• Resolve customer computer workstation and software problems; install network and computer peripherals; Troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
