Job summary

Nuro is seeking Autonomous Vehicle Operators to operate our test vehicles and contribute to training our self-driving technology. You will work to ensure safety and reliability while collecting real-world data and providing feedback to engineers.

Role includes manual and autonomous driving, occasional public interactions, and high-profile ridealongs. This position emphasizes accountability, safety culture, and collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• Valid California drivers license required.
• US license with 3+ years of driving experience preferred.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass background check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Operate a vehicle in manual and autonomous mode up to 8 hours per day.
• Collect data using proprietary software and provide detailed feedback to engineers.
• Troubleshoot operational issues with Mission Operations to resolve quickly and meet mileage targets.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspection checks before/after missions.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks (e.g., washing, tire inflation).
• Interacting with the public to educate them on autonomous vehicle technologies and behaviors.
• Serve as a company ambassador during high-profile ride-alongs, balancing safety and professional communication.
