Nuro is seeking Autonomous Vehicle Operators to operate and test our autonomous vehicles on-site in Santa Clara, CA. The role requires passing multiple training checkpoints, rigorous safety standards, and collaboration with engineers to collect and analyze real-world data.

The position is temporary, full-time with benefits, ending after 12 months from hire. Morning shifts are offered, with a base hourly rate of $27 and potential for a discretionary bonus based on performance.

Qualifications

• Valid California driver's license and 3+ years US license.
• Able to pass a background check and drug test.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willing to operate both manual and autonomous vehicle modes.
• Ability to work 5 days a week on specified shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicles in manual and autonomous mode up to 8 hours daily.
• Use proprietary software to collect data and provide feedback to engineers.
• Troubleshoot real-time issues with Mission Operations to meet mileage targets.
• Perform daily vehicle inspection before and after missions.
• Conduct basic vehicle maintenance tasks as needed.
• Interact with the public to educate about autonomous vehicle tech.
• Serve as company ambassador during high-profile ridealongs.
• Monitor onboard safety and navigational systems with vigilant operation.
