Job summary

Nuro is seeking Autonomous Vehicle Operators to operate our autonomous test vehicles and help train our self‑driving technology. This full‑time, 12‑month position is based at the Santa Clara, CA site and includes full benefits and a base pay of $27 per hour for morning shifts.

You will work five days a week, adhere to safety standards, complete training checkpoints, perform vehicle inspections, and occasionally engage with the public during ride‑alongs.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CA driver’s license and a U.S. license for 3+ years.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass background check and drug test.
• Interest in autonomous vehicle technologies and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate a vehicle in manual and autonomous mode up to 8 hours per day in diverse traffic conditions while following safety procedures.
• Use proprietary software to collect data and provide feedback to engineers.
• Troubleshoot operational issues with Mission Operations to meet mileage targets.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspection checks before and after missions.
• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as washing tires.
• Occasionally interact with the public to educate them about autonomous vehicle technologies.
• Occasionally serve as a company ambassador during high‑profile ride‑alongs.
• Monitor onboard safety and navigational systems and maintain situational awareness.
