Job summary

Transdev North America, Inc. in Austin, TX seeks an Autonomous Mobility & Fleet Specialist to operate and evaluate self-driving vehicles, support ride-hail services, and perform safe roadside recovery.

You will be trained across multiple functions and deployed as needed while maintaining safety standards, monitoring software, and delivering excellent customer service in a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of driving on public roads.
• HS Diploma or GED required; four-year college degree preferred.
• Preferred experience: autonomous vehicle testing or fleet deployment operations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, situational awareness, and professionalism inside and outside the vehicle.
• Demonstrate strong situational awareness and understanding of proprietary technology.
• Safely operate and evaluate vehicles in autonomous and manual modes on defined routes.
• Monitor software systems and onboard data recording computers.
• Provide concise feedback, daily reports, and documentation.
• Ride as a passenger in an autonomous vehicle with limited control.
• Coordinate vehicle batch setups prior to shift arrivals.
• Follow diagnostic guides to troubleshoot driver support modules.
• Assist as a spotter to guide vehicle movements.
• Oversee asset security and access control.
• Safely operate a non-autonomous vehicle to monitor driverless locations.
• Execute safe vehicle recovery operations and transport to a safe location.
• Deliver customer service and roadside assistance to passengers.
• Act as a professional representative for the public and staff.
• Work flexibly, alone or in small teams; adapt to shifting demands.
• All other duties as assigned.
