Group 1 Honda of Gulfport is seeking a motivated Technician Trainee to join our service team. You will receive hands-on training, work alongside experienced technicians, and develop the skills needed to build a successful automotive career.

Qualifications

• A love of everything automotive.
• A positive and friendly attitude.
• Strong communication skills plus basic computer skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform lubrication services (oil, transmission fluids, filters) safely.
• Thoroughly check the vehicle and refer needed repairs to the Service Advisor.
• Operate and maintain lubrication equipment and tools.
• Keep the customer’s car clean and the shop organized.
• Maintain an orderly work area and follow safety policies.
• Ensure all equipment, especially lifts, is in proper working order.
• Represent Group 1 values in all customer interactions.

Responsibilities

• Perform all lubrication services (changing oil transmission fluids and filters) in a safe manner
• Perform thorough check of customer’s car (i.e. check additional fluid levels, battery, lights, tire pressure) referring all needed repairs and preventive maintenance to the Service Advisor
• Operates and maintains all lubrication equipment
• Ensure that the customer’s car is kept clean
• Maintain an organized and neat shop area
• Comply with all company safety policies and procedures
• Make certain all equipment is in proper working order, especially the lift
• Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company’s Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and vendors
