Job summary

Group 1 Automotive is seeking a qualified Automotive Technician/Mechanic to join our on-site service team. You will perform high-quality repairs following factory standards and use diagnostic tools to ensure accurate troubleshooting and repairs.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and delivering exceptional customer service, with opportunities for ongoing training and advancement within a Fortune 250 leader in global automotive retail.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an automotive technician/mechanic.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver license in the state that you will work and a good driving record.
• ASE certification(s) or certification(s) in brakes, electrical/electronic systems or engine performance preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Professional appearance and work ethic.
• Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality repairs efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards.
• Conduct comprehensive diagnostics, troubleshooting, and testing on automotive systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Road-test vehicles to verify successful repairs.

• Provide timely updates to service advisors on repair status and estimated completion times for customer communication.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving automotive technology.
• Uphold company values in all interactions with customers, coworkers, and vendors.
