Job summary

Group 1 Automotive, Inc. is seeking a qualified Automotive Technician to join one of our modern Pensacola shops. You will perform repairs, diagnostics, and safety checks following dealership and factory standards while delivering excellent customer service.

This role offers a competitive hourly wage ($25–$65 depending on experience and certifications), comprehensive health plans, 401(k), paid time off, and training opportunities that support career growth within Group 1 Automotive.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an automotive technician/mechanic.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver license with good driving record.
• ASE certification(s) preferred or in specialized areas (brakes, electrical, engine).
• Excellent customer service skills and professional appearance.
• Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality repairs following dealership and factory standards.
• Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting, and tests on automotive systems.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Road-test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Provide updates to service advisors on repair status and ETA.

Overview

We are looking to add qualified Automotive Technicianat one of our beautiful recently expanded shops!

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality repairs efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards
• Conduct comprehensive diagnostics, troubleshooting, and testing on automotive systems
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Road-test vehicles to verify successful repairs
• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
• Provide timely updates to service advisors on repair status and estimated completion times for customer communication.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving automotive technology
• Uphold company values in all interactions with customers, coworkers, and vendors

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an automotive technician/mechanic
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver license in the state that you will work and a good driving record
• National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification(s) or certification(s) in different specialized areas such as brakes, electrical/electronic systems or engine performance preferred
• Excellent customer service skills
• Professional appearance and work ethic
• Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screening
