Job summary

Group 1 Automotive in Slidell, LA, is expanding and seeks a motivated Automotive Service Technician to join our award-winning dealerships.

You will diagnose, repair, and road-test vehicles while upholding our standards of professionalism and customer service.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an automotive technician/mechanic.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver license in the state you will work and a good driving record.
  • ASE certification(s) or certification(s) in different specialized areas preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Professional appearance and work ethic.
  • Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality repairs efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive diagnostics, troubleshooting, and testing on automotive systems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Road-test vehicles to verify successful repairs.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide timely updates to service advisors on repair status and estimated completion times for customer communication.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving automotive technology.
  • Uphold company values in all interactions with customers, coworkers, and vendors.
